β€œThe world is making strides toward a more just global community, particularly through advancements in improving access to human rights exemplified by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other binding international treaties and conventions. However, a pressing question arises: Is Sub-Saharan Africa part of this progression? It is evident that the region faces significant challenges, including ongoing conflicts, natural disasters, ineffective governance in some areas, and poverty.

My primary concern is for the vulnerable groups who endure inadequate treatment and often face even harsher conditions due to their disadvantaged status in a community that is still striving for improvement: namely, women and children. As an aspiring lawyer, I am committed to leveraging my legal education to advocate for and enhance access to basic human rights, most importantly the rights to life, liberty, and expression, including access to education and better health for women and children in my community: Uganda.”
